Specialist Sales VP/AVP
We are an independent research firm serving the world’s leading hedge fund, private equity and management consulting firms, with offices in London, Shanghai, New York, Hong Kong and New Delhi. As part of this we connect our clients with primary research to give them an edge and ability to gain a better understanding of the factors and issues affecting investment decisions.
As part of our growth and expansion, we are looking to recruit a Specialist Sales person to assist on driving sales and bookings of syndicated research and tracker products to new prospective firms.
As a part of this role you will be responsible for:
- Prospecting new clients and managing a pipeline of new accounts.
- Meeting with prospective clients to discuss product offering and consequently negotiating commercial terms.
- Understanding the stories behind individual securities and pitching the value proposition to relevant clients.
- Developing close relationships with sophisticated clients to help refine and develop research product ideas.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated track record in selling to institutional investors and experience in closing deals, preferably with an extensive list of existing buy-side relationships. The main part of the role will consist of driving new relationships with buy-side firms and selling independent research such as equity trackers, surveys and syndicated research.
To be successful in this role you will need to:
- Have a good understanding of financial markets, alternative investments and the public equity investment process.
- Have a demonstrable ability to generate and follow up on leads effectively with excellent networking skills and experience of negotiating commercial terms.
- Have a strong entrepreneurial drive and desire to develop and build out a new product offering to prospective clients.
- Be a results driven, team player who is able to effectively manage time whilst keeping a positive and “can-do” attitude.
