Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) – North East
Hays Healthcare is working alongside a leading provider of Health and Social care services to assist in the appointment of a Speech and Language Therapist to work in the North East of England.
Our client is seeking a qualified Speech and Language Therapist to join their multidisciplinary teams based in the North East of England.
The successful candidate will be required to provide support to units in Darlington, Bishop Auckland, Barnard Castle and Hartlepool.
This role is challenging yet rewarding and will require the post holder to work alongside colleagues within Psychiatry, Psychology, Occupational Therapy, Nursing and Health Support.
Primary duties will encompass: to assess, develop, implement monitor and evaluate specialist speech and language therapy independently, including assessment, diagnosis and management of patients with complex communication needs and challenging behaviour.
The ideal candidate will have the following:
· A post graduate qualification in dysphagia would be advantageous
· An interest in working with people with learning disabilities, particularly with behaviours that challenge
· Experience of working with people with dysphagia – assessment and advice on management
· Commitment to multidisciplinary team working
· Access to transport / ability to travel throughout the region
