Database Technical Support Engineer Job Description The position of Technical Support Engineer is responsible for assisting customers and other employees through the installation, configuration, deployment, and use of products. As part of a growing team with a 24 x 7 support environment, commitment to team, schedule and flexibility of work hours including nights, weekends and holidays is required on occasion. The candidate must be able to troubleshoot any outages or issues, be able to understand customer architectures and implement solutions in the most efficient manner (according to the customer?s needs Experience Required Excellent understanding of SQL protocol; PostgreSQL is a plus. Understanding of data models (packages, functions, views and stored procedures). 2-3+ years experience working as a support engineer with database technologies. Interest and experience with emerging database technologies and trends. Supporting/developing Web applications in PHP/Java/Ruby/ in a Tomcat/Jetty environment a plus.
