Sr Compensation Analyst / Compensation Advisor

Job Summary : Provides guidance and direction to management and human resources personnel regarding compensation programs, policies, procedures, and practices for FedEx Ground (FXG) and FedEx SmartPost (FXSP). Performs analysis on and supports various compensation programs and practices. Ensures compliance with wage and hour laws and regulations. Essential Functions : Provides guidance and direction to management and human resources personnel on complex pay issues and compensation policies and practices (e.g., fair labor standards adherence, pay equity review, or general compensation policy interpretation). Evaluates new and existing jobs for salary grade determination and exemption classification. Recommends appropriate actions based on research and analysis of market, Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) guidelines, and current positions. Provides support to management and human resources personnel in writing job descriptions. Analyzes components of the pay program (e.g., salary structure adjustments, merit guidelines, Package Handler rate structures and special pay programs) on an annual basis by researching market factors and considering economic environment and internal variables. Develops costing scenarios and recommendations for program changes for review and approval. Assists in the development and implementation of compensation administration policies and guidelines. Ensures compliance with all legal requirements of compensation programs through review of documented procedures, job documentation data and various pay practices. Collaborates with Human Resources Information Services (HRIS) to ensure that the human resources system meets compensation needs and is updated to reflect changes to salary structures and programs. Mentors and advises other employees on various compensation functions (e.g., reviewing pay actions, performing job evaluations, writing job descriptions). Participates on cross functional and cross opco strategic projects and initiatives. Develops and delivers presentations and training to management and human resource personnel on current and new programs. Minimum Education : Bachelor?s degree in Human Resources, Business, or related field required; in addition to Minimum Experience, high school degree or GED and four (4) years experience in human resources or related area is accepted in lieu of degree. Minimum Experience : Four (4) years experience required in human resources or related area with at least two (2) of those years working as a compensation analyst or an equivalent analytical role. Required Skills - Abilities and/or Licensure : Software skills, including use of Microsoft Office software and web-based applications. Verbal and written communication skills necessary to explain complex and/or confidential information. Presentation skills necessary to facilitate training and/or deliver informational sessions to groups and/or individuals. Time management and organizational skills necessary to manage multiple projects, appropriately prioritize workload, plan for resources to meet deadlines and goals, and respond to day-to-day functional needs. Ability to analyze, review, and make recommendations. Ability to mentor, coach and act as a knowledge resource to other employees. Knowledge of state and federal laws and regulations regarding wage and hour. Knowledge of concepts, practices, policies and procedures related to field operations preferred.
