The Travelers Select organization is currently engaged in a large scale multi-year effort to provide strategic, agile product and underwriting capabilities to our agents, insured¿s, and business partners. We are searching for a motivated, energetic Product Platform Sr. Director to be part of a team aligned to drive the achievement of complex business and organizational objectives. The Sr. Product Platform Director is knowledgeable and experienced in a Commercial Line(s) of insurance and is primarily responsible for the monitoring, research, and improvement of strategic product capabilities, leveraging highly efficient and sophisticated automated underwriting and product delivery platforms, consistent with Small Commercial strategy and objectives. The Sr. Product Platform Director reports to the Second Vice President of Product Platform and works in collaboration with business partners to provide product platform solutions, provide input and analysis for industry segment best practices, support and updates underwriting strategies, marketing materials, competitive information, develops and/or delivers training to internal and external groups, and assist in segment underwriting reviews and claim analysis. They present to audiences at all levels of the organization and is an active contributor in special projects with team members in Home Office Product Underwriting, Product Management, Operations, IT, Actuarial and Sales Marketing to enhance small commercial product offerings and platform performance. MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES: * Serves as the primary subject matter expert or business lead for Product Platform Development initiatives including the enhancement of product and underwriting strategies to further refine, develop, and maximize the full potential of the automated Strategic Commercial Business platform. * Assists in the formulation or amending of existing product and underwriting strategies for specific segments basedon analysis of book performance monitoring (loss trends, utilization/productivity, etc.), identification of trends, and changes in the external marketplace. * Coordinates new product idea generation within and across business units. Conducts investigations and analyzes the pros and cons of a new product offering to support the business or Travelers position. May gather data and prepare analysis on corporate exposure, claim analysis, actuarial data, etc to support a corporate/business unit underwriting position. * Reviews and identifies training needs. Works with training coordinator to develop and deliver product training. * Works collaboratively with other business units, field offices, service centers and Enterprise Product and Underwriting to support line strategies within Small Commercial and/or Business Insurance. * Coordinates and executes Small Commercial-wide communications when multiple departments are impacted. QUALIFICATIONS: * Minimum five years Commercial Lines underwriting or product experience required. Multi-line or specific line of insurance (Workers Compensation, Automobile, Property, General Liability) acceptable. * Bachelors Degree (MBA a plus) strongly preferred or equivalent work experience * Fully able to understand and integrate Small Commercial Vision and Core Values in daily work. * Exceptional quantitative reasoning and critical thinking; ability to translate complex insurance concepts into easily understood strategies. * Superior platform skills. * Exceptional oral and verbal communication, organizational and time management skills. * Strong ability to build and leverage internal and external partnerships. * Ability to effectively influence and work collaboratively in a cross functional, team-oriented environment. * Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; meeting or exceeding established deadlines. * Strong presentation development and delivery skills; able to customize delivery to audience * Ability to develop training materials and conduct relevant training sessions. * Knowledgeable of current market conditions-pricing, coverage, terms, etc. * Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint and overall computer navigation.
