IT Auditor
Job Description
Performs audits on new and existing information system applications to evaluate the effectiveness of controls; identify areas of risk, provided consultative services for other departments, and ensure systems and procedures are in compliance with corporate standards.
Required Skills
Responsible for performing detailed evaluation of data processing systems and operating procedures. Follows the audit plan to perform SOX and MAR audits, risk assessments, and other special projects. Attend and/or leads meetings, interviews control owners, generates request lists, evaluates results, documents using preset work paper requirements, and submits recommendations for improving current standards for ITGC, Application and Dependent Manual, IT Operations, and IT Security specific related controls. Monitors the implementation of system changes and/or projects for accuracy and reports on them. Ability to write reports and assist in development of audit plan. Must have the ability to lead a team and develop the audit staff.
Required Experience
Minimum Requirements: Bachelor degree or equivalent in Computer Information Systems (CIS) or Management Information Systems (MIS) or related field. At least three years related information technology auditing experience. Prior experience with Microsoft SQL and Oracle databases and the skill-set to evaluate access levels for each. Must have good understanding of IT Security framework and the ability to effectively communicate with control owners using good communication skills and knowledge of the related IT Audit subject matter. Must have general understanding of control procedures, audit standards, practices, and techniques.
Preferred Requirements: Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) or Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP). Knowledge of a second language.
