We are seeking qualifed candidates for the recently opened Sr. Storage Architect. The primary role of the Sr. Storage Architect is to respond to proposals. The secondary role will be to supplement short-term implementation and technical engagements. The candidate will lead in developing in-depth technical storage solutions to meet customer requirements. Candidate should be a problem-solver, detail-oriented, analytical, and resourceful with excellent oral and written communications skills. A high level of consultative knowledge of a wide array of storage hardware/software skills, including competitive storage skills is expected.

- Develop in-depth technical storage solutions in response to proposals
- Field work, implement storage solutions and provide technical on-site customer support

Consultants hired into GBS Public Sector will typically be located in an IBM office or at an IBM client site primarily in the Washington, DC metropolitan area. In many cases, relocation to the Washington, DC area is required is not reimbursable. However, we do have opportunities that require residence in other strategic locations in the USA . While most projects are in the DC metro area, Consultants must be able to travel to projects that are in the DC Metro area and to those projects located outside the local area. Some projects do require up to 100% travel for an extended period of time that is generally
Required
- High School Diploma/GED
- At least 3 years experience in as an Storage Architect,
- At least 2 years experience in Demonstrated high degree of storage knwldg related to virtualization, thin provisioning, disaster recovery, data de-duplication, data replication, copy services, backup and recovery, and storage tiering
- U.S. citizenship required
- English: Fluent
Preferred
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology
- At least 5 years experience in in IBM and non-IBM storage hardware (EMC, Hitachi, HP, Netapp)
- At least 3 years experience in working with senior technical leadership as technical advisor
- At least 5 years experience in IBM and non-IBM SAN storage management and monitoring software
- At least 3 years experience in in at least one Operating System (AIX, Linux, Solaris, or Windows),
- Security clearance of Secret - Active
- Certified in ITIL Foundation
