GENERAL SUMMARY The Senior Technology Consultant (TC) is a pre-sales technical resource responsible for the translation of customer's business and technical imperatives into solution sales campaigns that are consistent with EMC's strategic business focus. By applying EMC and Storage Industry related technical acumen, relationship development, and consultative selling skills, they are charged with co-facilitating our transition to a solutions-based engagement model. Working in conjunction with other ATC?s/CSL's/Account Executives, a Senior TC leverages appropriate EMC offerings and expertise to objectively address customer needs in an effort to become their trusted advisor. PRINCIPAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Aligns with appropriate sales geography to represent EMC Solutions (TS and Partner) to all assigned accounts. Performs at a senior level acting as the technical resource for the sales team. Uses knowledge of technology, products, processes, industry expertise, and consultative sales skills to assess and educate customers on value of storage infrastructure and management. Builds in-depth knowledge of clients technical and business priorities, challenges and initiatives that can be translated into EMC solution opportunities. Responsible for delivering both core implementation solutions (Build) as well as incremental consulting solutions (Plan and Manage). Ensures effective coordination and support between account teams and supporting technical resources. Responsible for the coordination, delivery and quality of presales Technology Solutions deliverables within the domain of the account which may include items such as configurations, architectural diagrams, and proposal inputs. Exercises and manages the process of forecasting and retiring booked solutions business within assigned accounts. Builds value-added relationships within the domain of the account to become the trusted advisor. Responsible for developing and proposing technology solutions that meet customers needs. Ensures that proposed solutions when implemented meet the needs and functional requirements of the customer. Assists with accounts within the local geography. SKILLS Must have excellent interpersonal skills and communication skills. Knowledge of the technical aspects of hardware/software subject matter. Understanding of EMC's products and their value added to the customer. Strong presentation skills required. Ability to work independently. EMC Proven Professional Certification desired.
