Exciting Sr Test Engineer opportunities within Flight Management Systems (FMS)!

The Flight Management Systems (FMS) engineering product line has an immediate opening in Phoenix, AZ for an experienced Test Focal to lead the Verification and Validation (VV) team and help us to develop and implement DO-178B compliant software verification strategies including tools, processes and methodologies for the FMS product line.The position will be responsible for working closely with other FMS VV Technical Managers and Engineers as well as other VV Test Focal's to develop and implement integrated test strategies for the FMS product family. As the FMS VV Test Focal, this individual will be responsible for the following:
- Ensure that functional area architecture decisions/development are in alignment with and supportive of VV testing strategies.
- Assist in execution of global oversight reviews, defects capture, and root cause corrective actions.
- Assist the VV team in improving domestic and global VV functional excellence through identification of and deployment of appropriate training and best practices.
- Establishment of a VV productivity metrics to allow the FMS function to baseline current capabilities and drive continuous improvement targets.
- Analysis of all existing test tools, environments and methods in order to develop and execute integrated forward-looking test plans.
- Application of the FMS strategies of automation and re-use with a goal of significantly reducing the VV costs of the FMS product line.
- Assist in resolving technical issues between the global sites and the Phoenix development or system engineers.
- Act as a liaison with global partners to ensure communication and resolution of issues affecting program execution.
- Provide bench support and training (IBT/SSB) for global onsite engineers.
- Assist in maintenance of weekly Program Plans, Metrics, and Stakeholder reports.
- This position will involve coordination with domestic and international teams located in China and India.
Basic Qualifications:
§ Qualifications include BS degree in engineering or equivalent experience
§ Due to ITAR restrictions candidates must be a US citizen or legal permanent resident
§ 3+ years of experience in avionics or verification/validation experience testing
§ 3+ years of experience with DO-178B Level-B requirements in support of formal testing in an avionics environment at a systems level.

§ Capability to multi-task and manage competing priorities. Drives and meets goals. Demonstrates trust and works effectively with peers, management and customers. Develops and implements action plans to meet project objectives. Proactively identifies and resolves issues and drives continuous improvement.
§ Experience in software test or development activity preferred.
§ Familiarity with VV supporting documents such as Software Verification Plan, Software Test Definition, Software Verification Cases and Procedures, user manuals, etc.
§ Preferred candidates will be action oriented; results driven, high energy; self starter; innovative with new approaches to design work; influential with peers and customers and demonstrate critical thinking skills to drive to root cause.
§ Prior FMS systems or software development experience is highly desired but not required.
§ Good written and verbal communication skills are required to interface with peers, third party suppliers, global resources, and systems/software engineers.
§ Candidate should have a working knowledge of avionics application end-to-end development processes including requirements, code, testing, planning and tracking of tasks, and other embedded software development activities.
