We have a number of ideas and projects in our queue that promise to bring Amazon a lot of positive attention. The Video Advertising team builds the front end user interface and back end systems to power Video Advertising on Amazonrsquo;s robust streaming video platform with access from web browsers, Internet TVrsquo;s, mobile phones and tablet devices. Wersquo;re looking for a supremely talented, passionate senior user experience designer to work on this strategic initiative. The person filling this role will join the project at the ground floor as one of the founding members of our rock star development team. This designer will be responsible for designing the UX architecture, interaction flow, and aesthetics of this new initiative. We can't say too much about the effort but it involves creating elegant, intuitive user interfaces that meet business needs. This designer will have a significant impact on the creative direction in a challenging and ground breaking environment. Responsibilities: Create user-centered designs by considering market analysis, customer feedback, and usability findings Use business requirements and market research to assist in developing use cases, high-level requirements Design the UX architecture, interface, and interaction flow of new web and on-device software applications Art direct or design the visual design of the web and software applications Develop conceptual diagrams, wireframes, visual mockups, and prototypes Develop and maintain detailed user-interface specifications Present design work to the user experience team, product team, and Amazon.com executives for review and feedback Contribute to the User Experience groups shared knowledge of user-centered design and research methodologies If this sounds like you and you want to come help us, we definitely want to hear from you today. Basic Qualifications 5+ years of experience as a user experience designer, interaction designer, information architect, or similar role Ability to prototype in HTML, JavaScript, and CSS, or Flash Ability to work with technical teams and get into the code (in XML, HTML, or JavaScript) when necessary to create widgets that reflect your designs A portfolio or samples of work demonstrating experience creating user-centered design solutions Experience designing for the web and web based devices Bachelor's degree in design, human-computer interaction (HCI), or 6+ years equivalent professional experience Experience with a variety of design tools such as Photoshop, Illustrator, Fireworks, Visio, and Dreamweaver Preferred Qualifications Must love building stuff and inventing on behalf of customers Experience designing user interfaces and or hardware interfaces on portable devices Visual design expertise demonstrated through mockups and style guides Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills Experience working in a collaborative team and working directly with developers for implementation of designs Fluency in best practices for web-based information architecture and design, as well as strong knowledge of usability principles and techniques
