Sr. Welding Engineer
Functional job responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
- Provide technical review if supplier and subcontractor weld procedures, weld maps and PWHT procedures for conformance to customer and code requirements.
- Provide timely technical support for welding and fabrication questions for Engineering and Construction.
- Consult with engineering procurement and construction personnel in the areas of welding and fabrication techniques.
- Provide projects with weld procedures selection, fabrication/repair selection and Code/Project Specification interpretation.
- Review tube-to-tubesheet mock-up samples when required to determine acceptability.
- Write or update technical standards and specifications related to welding.
- Develop and update WPSs as needed and maintain the database of procedures and qualifications.
- Occasional business trips to meet with detailed engineering contractors and equipment fabrication in Korea.
Skills
- Degree in Metallurgical Engineering, Welding Engineering, Materials Engineering, Materials Science, or Mechanical Engineering with 10+ years experience.
- Basic knowledge of metallurgy processes, materials production and selection criteria.
- Experience with metallic materials and equipment in oil and gas and petrochemical facilities strongly preferred.
- Effective oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and under direction, as well as collaboratively using interpersonal and networking skills.
- Experience with projects in the Middle East preferred.
