This is an opportunity for a skilled marketing program manager to step into State Street Global Advisors' North America Channel Marketing Team. This position will manage marketing projects and programs targeted toward defined contribution plan sponsors and other segments as assigned.
The Marketing Program Manager will work closely with senior marketing managers to plan and oversee flawless implementation of events and engagement activities -- especially direct mail, email, in-person events and webcasts. This position will report to the Head of North America Channel Marketing and the role will be based in San Francisco.
Overview of Responsibilities
In-Person Events
Establish and manage annual event calendar. Identify sponsorship and speaking opportunities for the defined contribution team and other channels as assigned. Responsible for all activities related to SSgA sponsorship of third party conferences and speaker's content. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Develop event topics and negotiate sponsorship with organizers
- Create PowerPoint presentation or talking points for the speaker
- Ensure all logistical details for sponsorship are provided
- Identify additional opportunities during the event
- Monitor timelines for multiple events
- Measure effectiveness of conference or speaking opportunity
Webcasts
Establish and manage production calendar for quarterly webcasts. Responsible for all activities related to SSgA webcasts for defined contribution and other channels as assigned. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Create webcast associated email content and oversee delivery for invitation, confirmation after registration, reminder email, post event email
- Promote event to internal distribution partners in sales and marketing
- Work with webcast vendor to create Registration Page and Confirmation Email
- Measure webcast campaign and report
Email and Direct Mail Campaign
Oversee implementation of email and direct mail calendar. Responsibilities include on-time, on-budget delivery, quality control and alignment with industry best practices. Day-to-day activities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- For email and direct mail: produce distribution list, audit for quality as necessary, obtain compliance approval on marketing materials, measure and report campaign outcome
- For email: work with email vendor to implement campaign that includes design, test, launch and reporting
Marketing Database Management and Program Follow Up:
For events, webcasts, direct mail and email, insure continuous improvement of data in CRM system. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Work with CRM to manage email and mail list
- Work with internal distribution partners to create marketing campaign to disseminate relevant channel content
- Update CRM with activity after the email launches (add activity, unsubscribe bounced emails, unsubscribe opt outs)
- Follow up on email inquiries that are triggered by CTAs in the magazine and online, as needed
- Bachelor's degree in a related field such as Marketing, Communications or Business; MBA preferred
- Minimum of 5 years of marketing program management experience; financial services experience preferred
- Strong project management skills are paramount to the success of this role including the ability to juggle, prioritize and balance competing goals, projects and personalities
- Strong knowledge of marketing principles and formulation of marketing strategy and robust programs especially email and direct mail
- Outstanding organizational, communication, and presentation skills
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, ability to prepare clear and concise client-ready documents
- Strong interpersonal skills, demonstrate empathy and commitment to the client with a proven ability to build strong relationships with clients and colleagues
- Agency or consulting experience preferred
- Fluency with webcast platforms such as On24 or WebEx. Substantial experience with CRM systems. Fluency with Microsoft PowerPoint, Word, and Excel
