Job Summary:

Responsible and accountable for reconciliation of assigned general ledger accounts, month end journal entries, profit and loss analysis, and forecast analysis of assigned areas, inventory accounting and control duties for centres and warehouses. Other responsibilities include, but not limited to, support for franchise accounting, bank reconciliations and filing property tax returns, sales and use tax returns and assist in audits.

Major Responsibilities:

Responsible for JDEdwards journal entries, general ledger controls and analysis, prepaid accrued liabilities, cash, and inventory general ledger accounts.

Responsible for Centre and warehouse perpetual inventory to general ledger reconciliation. Act as a liaison with warehouse inventory supervisor and corporate purchasing and distribution departments concerning inventory accounting issues.

Calculation, preparation, and organizing data of sales/use tax filing for US and Canadian centres and audits.

Responsible for processing fixed asset invoices, assigning asset id numbers, reconciling the general ledger to the fixed asset module and all related journal entries for disposals and depreciation and amortization, prepare various detailed fixed asset reports.

Responsible for assigned profit and loss analysis.

Prepare property tax returns.

Assist with monthly reporting

, year-end audit schedules, fieldwork by public accountants, and miscellaneous regulatory compliance reports.

Provide inventory control and reconciliation exception reports and support. Prepares gross margin reports and analysis.

Analyze actual performance for assigned responsibilities to budget and forecast.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in Business is required, emphasis in Accounting preferred.

Minimum of three years general accounting experience, with thorough knowledge of accounting functions and processes.

Ability to work with Internet, Microsoft Office, ability to use Outlook, word processing and spreadsheet software package skills.

Ability to be an effective team player and be empathetic.
