NATURE AND SCOPE:
This position is responsible and accountable for maintenance of financial records in accordance with company policy, GAAP, state and federal tax regulations. This includes the following areas of responsibility: admin. fee income, prepaid asset administration (including prepaid insurance), chargeback receivables, other receivables, accrual accounts, administration/initiation of vendor EFT or wire payments, inventory account analysis (reserve analysis), backup for maintenance of all Fixed Asset records and reconciliations (including annual Fixed Asset verification/audit), reconciliation of various general ledger accounts in conjunction with the month-end close, daily review of Movex night-job transactions for proper postings and error corrections, daily processing of MFV invoices, intercompany reconciliation and related intercompany accounting, documentation of internal control policies and procedures, internal and external reporting as requested, and other areas of responsibility as assigned by the Controller.
This position directly interfaces with department managers and other employees within the company, bank or other external auditors, other external vendors/service providers, and other financial personnel.
PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES:
Process financial close duties in a timely and accurate manner (including completion of all assigned balance sheet account reconciliations).
Maintain, calculate, reconcile and/or analyze the following specifically assigned accounts: admin. fee income, prepaid assets (including prepaid insurance), chargeback receivable,, other receivables (including employee notes), accrual accounts, inventory account analysis (reserve analysis) and intercompany accounts (including intercompany interest).
Under the direction of the Controller, conduct various financial analysis and research of expenses incurred in comparison to budget.
Initiate and process all vendor wires and EFT payments.
Review daily Movex nightjob reports for proper postings and errors. Investigate and resolve any GL posting errors in a timely manner.
Backup functions related to all fixed assets and related fixed asset subledger (Sage – BEST software). This includes recording monthly depreciation expense and reconciling all fixed asset subledger reports to the general ledger fixed asset accounts and maintaining proper Construction in Process documentation and reports that reconcile to the CIP general ledger account. Conduct and coordinate annual fixed asset physical observation and audit verification.
Provide various other financial analysis and reporting as requested by the Controller.
Support bank and financial audit activities and ensure all data requested is reasonable and provided promptly.
Document internal control policies and procedures in areas of responsibility. Assist the General Accounting Manager and/or Controller with implementation of various new internal control policies and procedures.
Continuously strive to improve processes, service quality to internal and external customers, and employee relations.
Ensure conduct is consistent with all Compliance Program Policies and procedures when engaging in any activity on behalf of the Company.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
This position requires effective interaction with the bank, external auditors, taxing authorities and internal management. This position requires excellent communication skills; an understanding of the business, company policies, financial systems, as well as basic tax law, and associated computer applications.
This position functions with a degree of independence in making decisions as they relate to areas of responsibility.
Strong computer skills and experience working with a fully integrated accounting system, plus strong Microsoft Office experience is required.
The ability to document formal policies and procedures related to month-end close processes, assigned balance sheet account reconciliations.

Undergraduate degree in Accountancy or related business field required. A minimum of four (4) years of relevant accounting and/or bookkeeping experience required. Prior experience in an accounting firm and/or company with commercial sales of more than $250 million is desired. Any experience within the healthcare industry is a plus. Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.
