Job Description:

Counsel students about financial aid programs, application procedures, costs and indebtedness. Review financial aid application data and determine eligibility for federal, state and institutional aid. Assist with the financial aid packaging of new and continuing students. Assist with the input, recording, and revising of scholarship awards. Design and implement new loan and scholarship procedures as needed. Communicate with students regarding financial aid awards, eligibility requirements, verification and database match problems, loan histories and other student inquiries. Notify students of changes in eligibility and recommend alternatives as appropriate. Applicants should be well versed on financial aid regulations, analyzing student data, and implementing procedures to ensure regulatory compliance and timely and accurate delivery of all available financial aid.

Assist in the administration of PowerFAIDS, including but not necessarily limited to creating reports, selection sets and troubleshooting technical issues. Help maintain and update the financial aid pages on FSU’s website. Assist with special financial aid projects as needed.

Requirements:

Excellent interpersonal, organizational and communications skills required. Must be able to work with tact and discretion in a fast paced office environment with multiple deadlines. The successful candidate will have a high level of computer literacy and experience with standard office automation tools and be able to satisfactorily complete tasks requiring significant attention to detail. Bachelor's degree or equivalent and two years of related full-time, professional level experience in a financial aid office, including experience with counseling students and knowledge of financial aid regulations. Powerfaids and Banner experience a plus.

Additional Information:

This is a full time, benefited union position. The work schedule is Monday-Friday. The annual salary is $40,000- $45,000, commensurate with experience.
