Stamping Tooling Engineering Coordinator | Reference Number # 601474
To champion the design, build, and development of the tooling required to stamp the components for full front and rear cradles, rear axles, suspension arms/linkages and any associated stamped/formed components for our customers. After production, assists in troubleshooting the stamping tools at our suppliers.
REQUIREMENTS: SKILLS ABILITY:
- Certificate of Qualification as a Tool Die Maker
- Working hands-on knowledge of Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GDT)
- Excellent organizational and communication skills (English)
- Five to seven (5-7) years experience in stamping/forming discipline
- Part forming, blank nesting, part formability, part processing skill set
- Able to work in various locations inside and outside the plant
- Ability to work well in a fast paced environment
- Ability to create productive relationships with various levels of staff
- Ability to uphold confidentiality
- Demonstrates the ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Ability to be flexible in hours of work in order to meet internal/external customer requirements
- Coordination of client, customer and supplier
- Ability to travel globally
JOB RESPONSIBLITIES DUTIES:
- Works with customers, vendors and other departments for implementation of changes, improvements and programs
- Determines manufacturing methods, estimates for tooling and piece costs
- Surveys stamping vendors, die suppliers and prototype suppliers and evaluates
- Leads follow-up after part and tooling award to vendor from strip layout through design, build PPAP run off, gauge R R, CMM buy off, white light scanning, integration of stamping to assembly tooling/process, launch and support of regular production
- Manages internal (Modatek) and external (Customer) engineering changes
- Follows and complies with all Operational Procedures and Policies as outlined in the Employee Handbook, Quality and Environment programs (i.e. TS16949, ISO14001), Die Standards, Buy-Off Procedures, Documentation
- Understands, promotes and live by Magna’s philosophies and Employee Charter

- Meet or exceed all core training requirements associated with this position.
- Performs other duties as required
- Travel to customers/vendors to review future business, investigate quality concerns, lead tooling build process and buyoffs for dies, check fixtures, rework operations, validate costing
