Star Java Engineer / Java Lead Developer recruitment
This role is for a hands on technical lead for a green field project developing a next generation derivatives trade processing and risk management platform. The platform being rebuilt uses a range of technologies including Java, C#/.net, C++, and Sybase/SQL on Windows and Linux platforms. This is an opportunity to join an award winning technology team with strong business sponsorship to deliver revenue enhancing technology and industry wide transformation.
The key requirements are:
• Strong hands-on experience and recognized expert on Java, C# or C++. You must be able to answer the toughest questions on these languages.
• Deep understanding of the mechanisms behind large-scale distributed systems, including low-level considerations.
• Very pro-active , delivery focus , strong experience on Agile programming
• Very good knowledge of one or several scripting languages (Python, Perl, Ruby .etc.)
• Strong OO design skills with in-depth knowledge of object modelling and design patterns.
• Computer science background with an intellectual rigour
• Relational database experience; ideally Sybase/SQL.
• Experience of messaging e.g. AMQ, Tibco .etc.
• Ability to solve complex problems and a proven track record of high performance and delivery
• Strong communication and team-working skills
Desirable skills
• Experience of working in financial services, in a front-office environment.
• Exposure to NoSQL systems (Cassandra, MongoDB .etc.)
• Agile development techniques
