Overview
The firm have offices in New York, California, Chicago and Singapore, and focus on ultra high frequency and low latency trading across multiple asset classes. Due to recent developments and innovations in high frequency technology the firm have now got the capabilities of trading across the microsecond space so the focus is on expanding this aspect of their business. They are seeking developers who have had exposure to multi-thread programming, working with large scale data sets, experience building data driven applications with semi-structured or NoSQL solutions and experience with rich API’s or other infrastructure. The firm has a very high threshold when it comes to the candidates that they interview let alone hire as they are looking to go into new markets and so any candidates that come on board now will play a major part in the build out of the business for the foreseeable future.
Role
You will be responsible for the design and development of state of the high frequency trading applications and analytics that form the backdrop of the firms trading. This will involve developing large scale algorithms, working with distributed systems and working in a fast paced technology driven environment to innovate new low latency initiatives. The firm is very data driven so exposure to working in a fast paced environment and large scale data sets is highly desirable. In addition some exposure to high performance computing, optimization or multi-threading is preferable.
As the role will have a research focus the ideal candidates should have a strong academic background-ideally within a scientific or analytical field such as computer science, engineering or mathematics. But exposure to C++ (STL and Boost) is vital as the firm is built upon strong object orientated principals.
