Stock Loan Trade Support

 

Main Function

The successful candidate will work within a small team in Equity Finance Middle Office, dedicated to performing a trade support function for deals initiated by the Stock Lending desk.

This team is at the heart of a growing business franchise within the firms equities business. Current market conditions have focused attention on this area and the successful candidate will have a high profile and the opportunity to work closely with the business and clients.

The primary focus of this role is to control this expanding business whilst allowing it to continue to develop. The successful candidate will be part of a business critical team that is focused on building the firms capabilities in equity finance.

Main Duties

Booking and monitoring of all returns and recalls to/from client

Monitoring internal short positions and booking loans to cover, where applicable

Close liaison with settlements on the movement of stock, in order to minimise the number/value of failing trades

Extensive liaison with the stock loan and financing desks to maximise efficiency and control and to enable prioritisation of key issues

Ensuring that departmental controls across all relevant functions are adhered to

Working with management to develop enhanced controls in line with developments to technology, existing workflow or product offering

Person Requirements

Stock Loan experience beneficial, however candidates with equities or equity derivatives trade support experience will also be considered 

Good understanding of equity products required

VBA knowledge beneficial

A working knowledge of Global 1 helepful

Motivated, self starter with experience of working in a pressurised environment

Intermediate Microsoft Excel skills (including writing own basic macros)

Proven problem solving and communication skills with both internal and external clients

Knowledge of Equilend and Pirum platforms beneficial
