Strategic Risk Program
This is a varied role that contains elements of both project management, analysis, solving unstructured problems and working with trading on influencing behavioural change. The successful candidate needs to show drive and determination and is expected to take on responsibility for a project within the stream as well as the other elements.
The key responsibilities will include:
- Delivery of the Standard End of Day process to a risk management system
- Taking on unstructured problems and managing to resolution
- Providing central support across multiple workstreams of End-of-Day
- Producing materials for senior management meetings, steering committees and working groups
- Managing the testing and release process for some of the End-of-Day deliveries
- Conducting analysis on requirements for books to migrate onto the standard End-of-Day process
- Working with Global Business heads and Global COOs to bring about behavioural change through metrics
To be successful, the candidate will need to demonstrate:
- Strong ability in taking on and quickly resolving unstructured tasks e.g. defining solutions for program wide issues
- Ability to work in a diverse and challenging environment whilst managing mutiple priorities
- Ability to think critically about challenges and issues and drive change
- Ability to build and maintain relationships with stakeholders across the bank
- Willingness to support the team by taking on ad-hoc tasks
Education and Professional Qualifications (Essential):
- Graduate with honors degree
Education and Professional Qualifications (Optional):
- Prince 2 or similar methodology
Work Experience / Background (Essential):
- 3+ years line or project management experiences either with a leading consulting firm within financial services or an International investment bank
- Strong knowledge of investment banking processes – front to back
- Has been involved in managing change
- Experience of dealing with a wide range of stakeholders
- Experience in achieving results in a project context using resources that do not report directly to you (e.g. from clients, from other departments, external suppliers)
- Experience of successfullly resolving unstructured problems
- Extremely strong organisational skills
- Strong relationship skills
- Strong communications skills at all levels
Technical / Business Skills Knowledge (Essential)
- Knowledge of Equity, Fixed Income, Derivative products
- Knowledge of technical processes – must have interfaced with technology groups and IT implementations
- Formal project management and presentation skills
- General business analysis and problem solving skills
- Familiarity with MS Project and Project Planning Control
