Strategist

The opportunity in question requires an individual who has a proven track record as a sell side strategist looking at Europe, Middle East and Africa in analysing global emerging fixed income from a quantitative angle (fund flows, bond supply, relative value sovereign credit spreads rates), incorporating fundamental views, generated by emerging markets EMEA.

 

The EM Strategist is coming up with a quantitative underpinned global EM Sovereign strategy (curves, portfolio strategy), in which he/she is putting emphasis on market technicals and sovereign credit fundamentals vs. markets spreads and yields. Working closely together with the Head of Emerging Markets Research to generate a consistent global EM asset class view. 

 

Responsibilities:

Formulation of quantitative underpinned global EM sovereign strategy (spreads and rates).

Giving quantitative research strategy input for generation of global EM asset class strategy

Development of models for the identification of emerging markets strategy opportunities.

Writing of market oriented research publications.

Client presentations; briefing of Sales and Trading

Media presence

 

Qualifications Required:

Advanced university degree (Master’s degree or equivalent in economics, finance or natural science), excellent rating.

At least 5 years’ experience as a strategist or a portfolio manager for EM fixed income.

Strong client orientation, including demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of clients and stakeholders.

Excellent oral and written communication and presentational skills; spoken and written fluency required in English.
