The Position
• Senior engagement Manager within the Insurance Practice
• The Insurance Practice’s focus is to help clients in both the Property Casualty and Life
Insurance sectors, adjust their strategies to a rapidly evolving competitive, regulatory, and capital markets environment. The domain distinguishes between two types of projects: Projects that address Finance and Risk (“Financial Effectiveness”), and projects that address business issues (“Strategy and Operational Excellence”)
Skills and Qualifications
Managers serve as the primary contact point for senior client executives and consultants staffed on client engagements. While specific responsibilities will vary based on
previous experience the ideal candidate will have the following:
- Experience in project-based, team-oriented environments (4+ years)
- Track record of leading and managing teams and delivering against tight deadlines in fast paced and demanding environment
In-depth knowledge of topics including insurance products and operational issues, such as:
- Capital and liquidity risk management
- Financial product design and development
- Organizational design and post-merger integration
- Some experience with the operational issues facing either Life or PC insurers (distribution, underwriting, claims processing, etc)
- Asset valuation and model validation
- Regulatory trends
- Exposure to one or more of the following is helpful, but not required: actuarial and / or CFA experience, stochastic financial modeling techniques, AXIS, MoSes, PTS, Alpha, Ave-Maria
- Ability to apply depth of content knowledge for thought leadership in project execution
- Outstanding communication skills; comfort in presenting to senior executives both internally and among clients
- Ability to leverage sophisticated economic analyses to conduct primary research, define trends, draw conclusions and present recommendations
- Collaborate with Partners to produce client deliverables
- Develop intellectual capital to support business development activities.
- You will currently be working in either an Insurance Strategy team in a major insurer or a Strategy Consulting firm with a wealth of exposure to the Insurance Sector.
- You will be an undergraduate or advanced degree from a top academic program in mathematics, economics, actuarial science or related field; FSA designation is helpful but not required. You will also be willing to travel.
