Position Description
These are great opportunities in Washington state to work on Boeing Commercial Airplanes programs. Performs limited structural design using well defined design tools and processes to validate and verify systems and components meet requirements and specifications. Participates in various test activities substantiate for customers and regulatory agencies that requirements are satisfied. Works under close supervision. Apply modern computer aided design techniques to define structural parts and assemblies and ensure vehicle performance.

Basic knowledge of aircraft structure, materials strengths and properties, design criteria, loading conditions, and processes (e.g. non destructive testing, corrosion prevention)

Basic ability to evaluate complex vehicles and systems from a multitude of perspectives. Includes the ability to apply figures of merit and integrated optimization tools. Ability to perform multi-disciplinary trade studies to evaluate configuration alternatives for functional and spatial integration.

Basic knowledge of computer aided design tools and systems (e.g., computer aided design/computer aided manufacturing (CAD/CAM), computer aided three dimensional interactive (CATIA), Mentor Graphics, Unigraphics). Able to manipulate data sets, (e.g., compare CATIA to measurement data, create stereo lithography files).

Typical Education/Experience
Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Structural Engineering positions require a minimum of an ABET accredited BS Degree, preferred in the following disciplines: MECHANICAL, CIVIL, AEROSPACE/AERONAUTICAL ENGINEERING. US Person status required. This is a HUB Requisition that supports staffing requirements for several existing and developmental airplane programs in Washington State. Positions will be located in the Puget Sound, WA area. Successful candidates will become part of the Boeing Mechanical/Structural Engineering team.
