Structured Credit Product Control recruitment
The successful individual will come from an accountancy background and have previous fixed income product control experience. They will have to demonstrate their understanding of not just PL, but how the desk activity affects the balance sheet and in turn translates down into the general ledger.
Role responsibilities:
• Daily and monthly pl and balance sheet reconciliation and substantiation of the general ledger
• Preparation of monthly IFRS accounts including preparation of monthly journals submission of Group disclosures
• Working with Valuation and Accounting controls and Operations to ensure accuracy and completeness of balances passing to the general ledger
• Timely clearance of breaks
• Daily and monthly analytical review to provide meaningful business-informed commentary on the financials
• Assist with establishing and implementing correct accounting for all products – in particular implementation of IFRS 9.
• Reduction of operational risk and cost through automation and process efficiency projects
• Ad hoc projects
Experience/skills required:
• Accounting qualification (1st time passes)
• Proven Product control/ Business Financial Control experience from major investment bank within Fixed Income, Credit and/ or Structured Credit
• Knowledge of the following products would be beneficial - CLN, CDS, ABS, TRS and IRS
• IFRS accounting knowledge is essential (Recognition and Derecognition of financial instruments)
• Strong Accounting skills – working knowledge of IAS39 and IFRS7
• Demonstrated ability to implement change, particularly in improvement of controls and automation.
• Strong MS Excel – ideally VBA experience
