EDF Energy, theUK's largest producer of low-carbon electricity has an opportunity for a Structurer. The role is within the Energy Sourcing Customer Supply (ESCS) unit. ESCS generate and sell electricity and gas to over 5.5 million residential and business customer, making us the largest supplier of electricity by volume. Our approach to ESCS is driven by our sustainability agenda, which means we behave as a socially and environmentally responsible company.
Optimisation is responsible for the hedging and risk management of the combined portfolio of ESCS and Existing Nuclear over a 3 to 5 year horizon. This portfolio consists of 4GW of coal plant, 8GW of nuclear generation (together delivering approximately 70TWh of power each year), 45 TWh of power from B2B, 20 TWh of power and 900 million therms of gas from B2C.
The Structurer will be part of a commercially focused team which builds and manages relationships with all relevant EDF Group stakeholders including EDF Trading, the off-taker relationships, Nuclear Generation and other external parties. The team is also responsible for the commercial management of some large contracts and the reporting of the Structured Relationship activities to senior management and Board level.
The post holder will support the Manager, Commercial Structuring in achieving objectives that are consistent with the rest of Optimisation as well as maintain and build the ESCS relationships with all relevant EDF Group stakeholders. You will have strong analytical, communications and report writing skills along with good business acumen and negotiation skills with the ability to communicate key messages clearly and concisely in a professional manner. Relevant experience and knowledge of the energy markets and industry are not required but would be an advantage.
