Reports to: Structures Engineering Lead
Responsibilities:
- Composite airframe primary structure design
- Materials and Processing (MP) oversight
- Preliminary through detail design and design for manufacturing
- Tooling design
- Design using Creo (Pro/E) CAD software for solid modeling
- Preliminary sizing for stress through hand calcs or Pro/Mechanica FEA
Requirements:
- Strong composite structural intuition for light aircraft
- 5 years in designing aircraft composite structures
- 3 years using any high level CAD system, Creo (Pro/E) preferred
- Hands-on composite fabrication experience, wet layup preferred
- Extremely detail oriented and weight sensitive
Education:
- BS or MS in Mechanical or Aerospace Engineering
