Purpose of role

The Structuring Lawyer will assume responsibility for contributing structuring expertise to the development and management of open-ended and closed ended real estate products and services as well as real estate investment instruments and transactions for institutional and retail clients.

Responsibilities span the life cycle of the respective products and encompass managing the design and implementation of significant cross-border structures and solutions; advising upon establishment of and maintenance for investment instruments and formulating the necessary documentation (e.g. prospectus) as well as supervising further deals and transactions by these products and services. To achieve the required results a candidate will need to co-ordinate with specialists in the areas of legal, compliance, tax, accounting as well as real estate product specialists and business development colleagues, both internal and external. Identification, analysis and review of strategic tax, legal and regulatory developments and the development of respective product solutions are an essential part of the portfolio of tasks.

This is a position in a team of three.

Requirements
For this position we are looking for a delivery oriented structuring lawyer with experience in advising on banking and finance in an international environment. We are specifically looking for experience in cross-border corporate or funds work, combined with a distinct business sense. Our ideal candidate needs to have the following profile:

University (law) degree and/or postgraduate qualification in law (bar exam, LL.M, tax expert)
At least 4-6 years post-qualification experience, two to three of which should have been spent advising on banking and finance, either in an international law/tax/consulting firm or in-house within a global financial institution
Solid understanding of the economic drivers in the financial industry
Strong time and project management skills
Self-motivation and the proven capacity to operate effectively under tight deadlines
Highly developed communication skills that will enable the individual to present complex structuring issues in a succinct and insightful manner as well as confidence in liaising and interacting with people at all levels
Absolute attention to detail
Ability to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
A self starter able to work with minimal supervision within a busy team environment
Strong service focus and excellent interpersonal skills
Flexible and able to work on a wide variety of tasks simultaneously We are looking for an individual who likes to work in a high-pace, client-oriented environment. Your ability to prioritise, be flexible and meet deadlines is essential
Excellent command of English (verbal and written), additional language and in particular German would be helpful
