SUBCONTRACT AND PROCUREMENT MANAGER

Applications are now sought for a key role in our Maritime business located at Williamstown. As the Subcontracts Manager, you will be responsible for the management of major subcontracts to meet the project requirements of cost, quality and delivery through effective commercial management and the facilitation of strong working relationships with the supplier, their supply chains as well as internal stakeholders.

Key duties will include but are not limited to:

• Acting as a single point of contact for all issues in relation to contract compliance.
• Leading the resolution of contractual issues and disputes arising with the suppliers.
• Ensuring adherence to contractual obligations through effective commercial management, including payments, claims, warranties, cash flow and flow down of contract amendments.
• Managing variations to the subcontract to ensure impacts are minimised, communicated and fully understood.
• Ensuring that emerging risks are identified, costed, monitored and managed appropriately, including those of the suppliers' supply chain.

As the ideal applicant, you will possess:

• Exceptional experience in subcontract and/or commercial management preferably within an engineering/defence organisation.
• Substantial familiarity and experience in the development and negotiation of complex defence contracts with major customers and/or suppliers.
• A proven track record of successful delivery of major subcontracts obligations.
• Degree qualification in an engineering or commercial discipline.
• Ability to obtain and maintain an Australian Defence security clearance.
