Your Duties:
The Supervisor Financial Accountant is responsible for the US and local GAAP accounting: daily accounting, monthly closing, statutory yearly reporting, Sarbanes-Oxley and revenue recognition testing, tax and VAT compliance, for the subsidiary in Germany. You will be the contact person for external auditors and tax inspectors. You will support local operations and FPA on understanding current and future region performances and will manage a team of 2 direct reports. Further main tasks are:
- Management of the daily US-GAAP accounting and of the monthly close of US books on a timely basis (D+3), in respect with all corporate guidelines, using SAP and Hyperion (HFM).
- Preparation of fully reconciled balance sheet review (BSR) on a quarterly basis. Ownership of all BSR issues resolution.
- Review of sales, for revenue recognition decisions.
- In charge of some Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) testing.
- Provide necessary input to the FPA team and local management, about monthly performance versus budget and prior year.
- Support the local business leaders for any finance related matters.
- Responsible for the year-end timely completion of statutory books, including annexes and legal financial information (Anhang and Lagebericht)
- Performance of the US-GAAP to statutory books reconciliation.
- Be the primary contact of external statutory auditors and tax inspectors and be the owner of all related audit issues resolution, on a timely and reliable basis.
- Filing of VAT, EC sales listings and Intrastat reporting, in a timely and accurate fashion.
- Responsible for income tax returns, and tax payments forecasts. Coordinates the work of tax consultants.
- In charge of archiving of finance and legal documentation for the country.
- Coordinates mergers, acquisitions, disposals and liquidations opportunities if any, from a system, accounting, reporting and tax standpoint.
- Coordination of the implementation of new LAS finance standardized processes into the local entities environment.
- Participation or lead cross-functional teams on special projects.
- Ensuring that all duties listed here above are fulfilled for PerkinElmer LAS Germany.
- In charge of recruitment, training and development of a highly performing team.
- Responsible for effective goal setting / performance review / development process (LOR)
Your Qualifications:
- Degree in economics or graduate in accounting, from a German university/school.
- Profound “hands-on” experience in accounting, preferably in a multinational environment or Shared Services Center, with exposure to US-GAAP. First experience in auditing with a “Big Four” is appreciated.
- Strongly demonstrated VAT/Intrastat/EC sales lists and tax capabilities.
- Fluency in English and German (oral and written).
- SAP demonstrated experience. Strong skills on MS Office. Hyperion reporting systems (HFM) experience is a plus.
- Highly motivated individual with the ability to work in a performing environment, with committment in achieving his goals. Demonstrated curiosity about recent accounting developments, from both a US and local GAAP standpoint
- Excellent communication skills, internally and externally.
- Able to guide, inspire and energize his team.
