SUMMARY

Supervises and coordinates activities of workers engaged in fabrication and assembly of structural, ornamental, or sheet metal products by performing the following duties.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
* Analyzes work orders and blueprints to determine information such as material to be used, type of operations, and sequence of operations required.
* Communicates company policies to workers and enforces safety regulations.
* Inspects work in progress and finished products for quality.
* Reviews production schedule and estimates worker hour requirements for completion of job assignment.
* Establishes or adjusts work procedures to meet production schedules.
* Recommends measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product.
* Suggests changes in working conditions and use of equipment to increase efficiency of shop, department, or work crew.
* Analyzes and resolves work problems and assists workers in solving work problems.
* Suggests plans to motivate workers to achieve work goals.
* Maintains time and productions records.
* Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials to be used in production of vehicles.
* Supervises fabrication/welding personnel.
* Interfaces with subordinates, co-workers, management and other departments on issues that concern and affect them.
* Performs other related duties as assigned.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
* High School diploma.
* Minimum 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment.
* Extensive experience and knowledge in various welding techniques.
* Ability to read and understand complex blueprints.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
* Certificates of completion from supervisory/leadership courses.
* Experience in manufacturing of specialty vehicles, automobiles, or aftermarket products.
* Proven track record of motivating employees and process improvement initiatives.
