Supervisor I - Corp Ops - Accounts Payable - 006LD Description Supervises all aspects of operations within a designated department of Corporate Operations. Includes primary responsibility for overseeing the day-to-day performance of department functions, in an efficient and cost-effective manner, to meet corporate guidelines and objectives. Supervises and participates in all department activities. Includes setting priorities, providing work direction, monitoring performance and motivating staff. Oversees personnel functions, including interviewing and hiring staff, conducting performance reviews, resolving any personnel issues which arise, and handling any disciplinary actions. Maintains a training program for all employees and assists in the training process, as needed, to ensure compliance with department policies and procedures. Communicates effectively with staff to ensure the department is operationally prepared to handle all assigned responsibilities. Assists in developing and maintaining department policies and procedures which satisfy corporate, investor, insurer, legal and regulatory guidelines and requirements. Resolves difficult or more complex problems or situations arising in the department, some of which may involve deviation from normal operating procedures, guidelines or policies. Provides feedback to manager on all important matters and developments relating to customers, the department or staff. Initiates appropriate action when required. May provide input into preparation of the annual budget and department goals, and monitors monthly department performance against those budget and goal expectations. Additional Qualifications Specific to this Position: Ensures payment for goods and services on behalf of TCF Financial and its subsidiaries. Develops and updates the Business Expense Policy and the required authorization policy. Provides direction to subsidiaries that will be utilizing TCF's Accounts Payable system. Ensures system integrity is maintained throughout conversion. Ensures adherence to applicable state, local and government regulations. Monitors the 1099 year-end process for TCF Financial Corp. Qualifications High school education or equivalent Minimum of three years of banking experience Demonstrated leadership skills, with proven ability to interact effectively with staff Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing Strong organizational skills. Three years experience in Accounts Payable. Demonstrated ability to supervise and administer the work of others. Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing. Preferred Four-year college degree or business course work College degree or equivalent work experience with at least five years experience in Corporate Purchasing Management or other job related Corporate Operations function.
