Supplier Accounts Administrator

Hays is delighted to recruit on behalf of this nationally recognised retail brand, seeking an experienced Accounts assistant for a temporary contract up to 6 months. The desired candidate will be a personable and committed individual with a passion for project work and a can-do-attitude.

Role Objectives
· Respond to day to day vendor and store queries on a timely basis.

· Communicate with client stores to resolve store charging queries and other issues.

· Make effective decisions on the validity of vendor charges based on proof of delivery information provided, and in accordance with supplier accounts policies and procedures.· Investigate / resolve reasons for invoices not matching automatically to drive auto-match rates to 95%+ for each Vendor.

· Monitor vendor accounts and take action to prevent debit balances where possible.

· Perform and provide support to all rotational tasks such as balancing, STATS, invoice rejection.

· Support fellow team members to achieve wider team objectives, and assist in adhoc tasks as required.

· Adhoc absence / holiday cover as required within the wider team.
Knowledge/Skills/Experience Required

Essential skills:
· Numerate and PC literate.
· Good analytical/problem solving skills within context of financial /procedural controls.
· Strong organisation skills with ability to prioritise own workload
· Effective communication / inter-personal skills – verbal and written, and confidence to liaise with external parties at all levels.
· Confidence / judgement in escalation of complex issues
· A strong team player with drive and self-motivation Knowledge and experience:· Broad systems experience preferable, ideally including SAP
· Prior experience in a AP / AR role (desirable)

Minimum level of education or qualifications:
· AAT qualification or currently studying AAT (preferred but not essential)
· GCSE / equivalent in Maths English
