Supplier Quality Engineer
The Global Supply Chain team at Husky is constantly focused on improving its methodologies and processes in order to be and remain at world class levels. The Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) plays a pivotal role on this team and is responsible for the quality performance of our suppliers globally to ensure a stable and robust Supply Chain to successfully meet and exceed our customer’s needs
ROLE OVERVIEW
The successful candidate will:
- Lead and drive cross functional teams and support suppliers across all the commodities (custom metal fabrication, electrical, hydraulic, pneumatic).
- Support the building of a world class centre through outstanding delivery on :
New and existing supplier development
- Drive Supplier quality development initiatives.
- Identify and recommend continuous improvement opportunities to further improve the performance and efficiency of the Husky Global Supply Chain
- Lead and manage supplier assessments (audits)
- Evaluate suppliers’ quality performance by monitoring the quality inputs.
- Evaluate suppliers performance by monitoring the monthly scorecard based on overall performance
- Support the operations in the containment of supplier related non- conformances and escalation
Execution of part qualification
- Lead and manage part qualification process
- Lead and manage source inspection
- Lead and manage supplier corrective actions.
Service warranty
- Elevate proactive containment as required (recalls, safety alerts etc.)
- Lead and manage supplier related shipped quality / warranty issues
Qualifications:
Education:
- Post secondary education
Experience:
- Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), Part qualification, Process capability cycle, root cause analysis and corrective action
- Manufacturing/Fabrication process experience of three or more years
- Two to three years experience in auditing
Soft skills:
- Proven team leadership skills; ability to work across boundaries and work effectively with suppliers
