Supply Chain Accountant Job in Slough SL6 6PZ, Southern UK

PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Responsible for Consolidation of the UK Supply Chain financials for monthly reporting and forecasting of the SC PL.
Also, providing financial insight, analysis and reporting in order to optimize financial outcomes of decision-making in the in the UK Purchasing and RD functions.

CONTENT OF POSITION:

• Responsible for the delivery of accurate and timely financial analysis to the UK Purchasing Manager and Technical Managers.
• Provide influence and financial insight through preparation of reports, financial models, and presentations in order to improve the quality of decision making and optimise profitability and working capital.
• Create and interpret financial models to support the (Integrated Business Planning) IBP process, including the Opportunities and Vulnerabilities for the Supply Review stream, as well as consolidating the UK Supply Chain forecast.
• Preparation of any relevant submissions for monthly forecasting and the annual budget process
• Regular review of Purchasing and Formulation savings. Drive improvements in estimation techniques for these aspects of performance.
• Responsible for ensuring efficient and reliable process for consolidating UK SC performance, including conversion of data between systems as required.
• Facilitate aspects of the month end process, such as ensuring decisions are made on a timely basis to drive on time reporting of variable costs, and inventory adjustments.

Experience Educational Requirements:
- ACA or CIMA Qualified
- Understanding of the forecasting and budgetary processes within an operational environment and experience of supply chain accounting relating to production and logistics
- Understanding of Technical Supply Chain Accounting concepts, e.g. Standard Costing, logistics recoveries, etc.

Skills:
• Strong analytical skills (Cognos, Excel, Powerpoint)
• Understanding of core system (SAP) (Preferred)
• Expert Hyperion User (ability to consolidate and manipulate multiple legal entities, and measures in complex database models

Capabilities:
• Delivery of credible analysis insight into the Purchasing and RD results
• Ability to influence, challenge and support financial and non financial managers through high quality presentation of financials including “waterfalls” to describe variances.
• Ability to work as part of a finance team to deliver against agreed deadlines
