Supply Chain Finance manager

Based in Glasgow, my client, a leading FMCG business has an excellent job opportunity for a Qualified Accountant to fulfill a 12 month fixed term contact as a Supply Chain Finance Manager.

The main purpose of this role is to provide comprehensive financial support and challenge to the Supply Chain area of Group Operations. This includes Customer Services, Technical Services, Procurement, Planning, Bottling, Warehousing and Despatch operations. There is also important interaction with Compliance and Engineering departments.

Key job duties include:
• Ensuring accurate management reporting is provided within agreed timescales to support decision making in the Supply Chain area.
• Leading the annual financial budgeting process and the in-year re-forecasting for all areas of the Supply Chain, ensuring that deviations from budget are communicated in a timely, accurate and concise manner.
• Providing high quality decision-making challenge and support to the Supply Chain Director and his team in daily activities and adhoc, strategic projects.
• Ensuring financial rigour, control and compliance across all areas of the Supply Chain area.
• Monitoring product costing activities and participate in the corresponding product pricing processes.
• Contributing to Product Development initiatives, advising on the optimum balance of quality and cost.
• Developing effective working relationships with colleagues across both Finance and Supply Chain – be identified by the Supply Chain management team as a key contributor.
• Focusing on continuous improvement in all tasks, identifying areas for improvement and taking appropriate action to address these.
• Ensuring effective leadership of direct reports, utilising existing skills and encouraging and facilitating further development.

The ideal candidate will be a professionally qualified accountant (CA, ACCA, CIMA) with a strong record of achievement and knowledge of financial concepts, including standard costing, ideally gained within a manufacturing environment.

Furthermore you will possess superior commercial acumen, the ability to understand complex transactions and processes and the impact of these beyond the immediate area of responsibility. Furthermore you will possess the ability to build effective working relationships and communicate with a variety of stakeholders and have the ability to explaining financial concepts to non-finance colleagues.
