Supply Chain Manager - 12 month fixed term contract £45K-£50K - S. Wales

My client a world-leader in the integration of cutting-edge defence and security systems have a requirement for an SC Cleared Supply Chain Manager on a 12 month fixed term contract basis at their site in South Wales.

Purpose of Position
• Responsible for the leadership and management of the Supply Chain, with multi-functional responsibility for the assigned material budget.
• Manage the interface with programme, ensuring good networking across the functions to maintain a joined-up operational supply chain approach and execution.
• Maximize the source advantage and thus the potential cost improvements on procured products and services across the business units to meet and exceed organizationally agreed targets.
• De-risk the material flow processes into the operation, implement robust supply chain processes deploying contingencies with suppliers in conjunction with the subcontract manager, and the conversion team to ensure continuity of material supply into conversion

Responsibilities
• Accountable for source, selection negotiation of local material requirements, working alongside Commercial QA the Build, motivate manage the Supply Chain team across the assigned team/ operations area
• Significantly contribute to support the development and deployment of Materials Supply Chain strategy
• Managing relevant operations MRP systems to support programme requirements
• Accountable for accurate reliable financial data is reported for materials cost-flow ETC forecasts.
• Work alongside business development Programme management to identify opportunities develop strategy
• Ensure that robust processes and organisation is in place to effectively control the Supply Chain, to meet the service requirements of the business, reducing cost and achieving and exceeding agreed supplied quality targets
• Communicate supply chain strategy and operating plan to Supply Chain team, Programme team, business divisions and other functional areas to ensure understanding and commitment.

Education/Experience
ESSENTIAL
• Considerable Supply Chain Experience
• Degree or Equivalent Experience
• Strong and demonstrable supplier negotiation skills
• Management of material budget controls
• Proven experience on project management and MRP systems
• Proven ability to lead and develop a successful team
• Experience of SQA QA processes in an ISO accredited environment

DESIRABLE
• Preferably qualified to MCIPS
• Experience in use of ORACLE MRP systems
• Import / export and export control regulations awareness
• Lean Six Sigma
