Position Description:
SunGard's energy solutions help financial services institutions, banks, hedge funds, industrial and energy companies to efficiently compete in global markets by streamlining and integrating the trading, risk management and operations of all commodities and their associated financial instruments.

The Energy and Commodities support desk at SunGard provides customer support and training across Europe for our Energy Trading and Risk Management system Aligne. We are looking for an experienced professional to join our team based in London. This role will involve providing application and technical support to our customers, and to deliver external and internal training on a regular basis.

Key Responsibilities:
•Provide 1st and 2nd level of support across all supported applications, developing a creative workaround for customer issues based on product and industry knowledge
•Track and manage issues through the development and QA lifecycles while providing updates to the customer
•Develop and maintain customer relationships
•Perform installation and upgrades of the supported application
•Communicate effectively with our customers and internal departments.
•Develop a deep understanding of the product from both a functional and a technical perspective
•Develop extensive energy industry market knowledge
•Deliver product training internally and externally

Position Requirements:
Essential background:
•Proven experience in an application support environment within Energy, ideally focused on ETRM systems
•SQL, Oracle database administration
•XML/XSLT
•Broad knowledge of Windows, networking and security

Desirable skills:
•Weblogic, JBoss, Websphere and Oracle application servers
•JavaScript or similar programming language
•Virtual environments

•Highly effective written and verbal communication
•Able to work independently, and as part of a team
•Able to clarify problems to others
•Proactive problems solving experience, using judgment to make decisions where no clear precedent may exist.

The successful candidate will gain significant experience on ETRM systems as well as exposure to the wide variety of technologies deployed.
