Surgical Sales Representative I Job in Baltimore, Maryland US

Baltimore, MD - The Surgical Sales Representative I will maximize sales profits and increase the Group's market share within a designated territory. The incumbent will be responsible for product sales and service, general management, and business record keeping of a designated territory, as well as to keep current in the knowledge of the healthcare industry to reach sales goals while complying with Olympus Policies and Procedures. * Create sales within a defined customer base by:
-Promoting Olympus products and services
-Maintaining a level of performance in a specified territory which meets or exceeds the sales objectives established by Olympus
-Establishing and maintaining relationships with physicians, nurses, hospital management, and other areas of surgical services

* Provide necessary and appropriate after sale service to customer base including:
-Installation assistance
-Training on use and operation of equipment
-Troubleshooting problems

* Provide input to the Regional Sales Manager, Marketing Department, and others as requested by Management.

* Develop and maintain the territory customer database, as well as a competitive database.

* Attend trade shows as necessary to demonstrate Olympus equipment and meet with potential and current customers.

* Attend seminars and sales meetings in order to develop knowledge about Olympus' products and procedures for these products.

* Perform other related duties as assigned.

(ONLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED)

* A Bachelor's degree in Business, Sciences, or a related field, or equivalent knowledge is required.

* A minimum of 3 years of sales, marketing, or clinical experience, including at least 1 year of sales experience, preferably in healthcare; or a minimum of 8 months as an Olympus Associate Sales Representative, meeting or exceeding all performance expectations, plus one additional year of sales experience is required.

* A specialized knowledge of human anatomy/physiology and related diseases of the body where Olympus products might be utilized is essential.

* Medical sales experience in a hospital with operating room or surgical familiarity is preferred.

* Must possess basic computer skills (Microsoft Office).

* Strong verbal, written, interpersonal, and organizational skills are necessary.

* A high degree of initiative and creativity, as well as the ability to meet deadlines and work with minimal supervision is vital.

* Must be able to travel as required.

* The following physical demands are required:
- Lift or carry a minimum of 25 pounds
- Bend, stoop, and/or kneel 2 hours a day
- Stand, sit, and/or walk 8 hours a day
- Operate moving vehicles
- Push and/or pull 50+ pounds
