SVP, Project Manager (Regional Regulatory Change) recruitment
This change function is a cross divisional, programme and project management services for the Asia Pacific region. Their remit covers a broad and diverse portfolio. The team manages projects from initiation through to implementation and closure.
Working closely with senior business and infrastructure personnel to deliver a range of product and country business expansion projects, efficiency and regulatory change projects.
The role will be a combined Project Management with interpretation of regulatory change and impact assessment for all business units and advising on necessary changes.
Both aspects of the role work closely with the business and all functional groups to ensure business initiatives / activities are planned, coordinated and executed.
The role will focus on scoping, initiating, planning and executing new 'front-to-back' projects for the business while adhering to a controlled project execution approach. Key tasks include the initiation and execution of projects while ensuring the appropriate governance is in place, risks / issues are identified and managed, plans are defined and tracked, and transparency is ensured through clear status reporting and stakeholder engagement.
Main Duties
- Maintain visibility of evolving activities (that are relevant / within programme scope) and maintain golden sources of information to support further synthesis, action and communication.
- Establish regular communication among programme stakeholders and facilitate all appropriate governance forums.
- Proactive identification and follow up of tasks /actions to maximise programme effectiveness.
- Ensure new workstreams, projects or activities are launched and ownership established.
- Translate the business strategy into executable plans and see these plans through to implementation.
- Initiate approved projects in line with the business objectives and scope.
- Direction management of a virtual project team / working group - allocating tasks, monitoring progress, ongoing control/co-ordinate the work of the project working group.
- Risk Issue management - identify and manage all programme/project issues and risks.
- To appropriately probe and question on project issues, drawing on SMEs as required ensuring alignment of delivery to overall project objectives.
- Planning - prepare and maintain detailed and accurate project plans.
- Identify and manage resource requirements in an effective manner that ensures project delivery while maintaining discipline around bandwidth and costs.
Person Requirements
Essential Experience Required
- Experience as a 'business' project / program manager used to running cross functional initiatives within an investment bank
- Proven full lifecycle project delivery record from shaping and initiating through to implementation while leveraging a defined and controlled execution framework / method.
- Demonstrable experience of running (at least) medium scale projects in an investment bank.
- Proven track record in driving execution and delivery through virtual project teams.
- Ability to multitask and cope with multiple disparate projects across different stakeholder groups.
- Ability to face off and engage confidently with senior stakeholders within a global bank.
Preferred
- Experience within OTC derivatives regulatory reform environment ('change the bank' or 'run the bank')
- 10+ years experience in Investment Banking (at least 7 years leading projects)

- Product knowledge across fixed income derivatives (Rates, FX, Credit)
Qualifications / Education
Essential: High quality degree from a good university or equivalent practical experience
Preferred: MBA / Accounting or other qualifications
