SVP/VP Credit Risk Management – Corporate Banking recruitment
The bank’s corporate lending book has grown steadily over the last 5 years across Asia as a whole, an impressive achievement at a time of wider stagnation within the wider banking industry. Singapore has been targeted as a key growth area in terms of the bank’s overall investment and Asian governance focus so this should be an encouraging time to be coming on board. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to build a team of up to 5 staff.
The core focus of this role will be to mange both the credit risk analysis and credit risk reporting teams, ensuring that portfolio reporting, counterparty monitoring and key credit risk processes are fulfilled in an efficient manner. You will be expected to deliver credit risk presentations to risk and regional committees, maintaining strong relationships with key stakeholders across the bank.
Specific responsibilities will include :
- Developing new approaches to enhance risk analytics and reporting, providing direction to Regional Management
- Ensuring that there are adequate tools and resources within central Credit Risk functions
- Leading Portfolio Analysis efforts in the Singapore office, ensuring analytical approaches are consistent with best practices and regulatory practice
- Working with businesses to understand business strategy, challenging where necessary
- Articulating key metrics, measures and business drivers in line with analysis
- Building analytical capabilities including key risk segmentation, country, industry, return metrics, capital measures, asset quality trends, by products and business
- Establishing an active leadership role to provide open communication with the bank's Asian HQ
Skills required :
- Strong credit risk management experience within the Corporate or Investment banking sector across ASEAN or the wider APAC region is essential
- A strong understanding/ practical application of Portfolio Analysis, Credit Policy and Credit Risk Management
- Ability to analyse detailed quantitative information
- Strong presentation and communication skills are essential
