Software Engineering Center in the Northeast is located in Marlborough, MA. SWEC provides a diversified base of engineering expertise that is responsible for the development, deployment, and maintenance of programs, engineering processes, strategic methodologies and tools. As a Co-op, you will have the use of our state-of-the-art technologies, tools, and processes to build systems that work the first time, every time. Programs you may work on include civilian applications, command and control systems, integrated communications systems, and netted sensor systems. This is an invaluable opportunity to grow your knowledge of the technologies that we use such as C, C++, and Java; Windows, VxWorks, and Unix; TCP/IP, Web Services, Enterprise Service Bus, graphical user interfaces, and UML to meet customer needs. Advance your educational experience and career by honing your skills and working on collaborative teams with experienced engineers from many engineering disciplines, including electrical, mechanical, systems, and training engineers. Get hands-on experience with our products by participating in integration, testing and installation of the software in target environments that include embedded processors and client /server /workstation-based computers. Work in an engineering organization recognized by the Software Engineering Institute (SEI) as having achieved CMMI Maturity Level 5, which is the highest software engineering process maturity level that the SEI recognizes. Our co-ops from this past term had the opportunity to work on both our internal research and development programs and AutoTrac III International Air Traffic Control Automation Productline. The AutoTrac II I assignment provided them with a real Java development assignment in enhancing our software baseline to support new features that are required by our current Hong Kong customer. The research and development assignment allowed them to gain experience in developing several Java components that could be shared across multiple Air Traffic Control programs. You will have a meaningful assignment that will complement your education, past work experience and potentially lead to a long-term career at Raytheon. This is a full-time Fall Co-op position from July- December 2012. It is not a summer internship. Required Skills: Actively working towards Bachelors degree with Computer Science, Software Engineering or Computer Engineering major in an accredited degree program Enrolled in a fourth year program during 2012-2013 academic year A cumulative GPA of 3.0/4.0 Ability to acquire a security clearance Desired Skills: Prerequisite coursework: Programming in C, C++, Java Good communication skills Previous co-op/ internship experience Strong desire to learn and contribute in a teaming environment Many positions across Raytheon may require the eligibility to obtain a security clearance.
