Sys Admin (Deployment)
Application Deployment Analyst will deploy applications that are based on Oracle, Sql Server, MySql and Websphere and maintain and support these products. The person will be required to perform varied tasks to support applications, middleware systems, databases and servers.
• Candidate will work with developers and business areas to deploy, maintain, and configure custom applications and build new environments as required, including Microsoft Windows servers and RedHat Linux LAMP servers
• Provide technical solutions to automate processes or functions to improve business operations
• Develop corresponding operations and support procedures for application deployment and operation
• Continually monitor and fine tune applications to assure optimal performance, availability and utilization of resources
• Develop and continually refine restore or recovery procedures for errors impacting application operations
• Design and develop scripts to automate deployment tasks and maintenance
• Report to managers and supervisors, advising performance as related to application operations and escalate issues per policy to higher tier support resources and management as necessary
• Provide on-call 24x7 responsibilities and shift work possible
• Provide after-hours problem escalation coverage
• Provide support during scheduled contingency tests
Required Skills:
- Strong database and Websphere administration in RedHat Linux and Windows Server 2008
- Familiarity supporting LAMP environments
- Knowledge of middleware systems such as Websphere and Cold Fusion
- Good understanding of application, middleware and database interactions and connectivity
- Experience supporting Web servers and applications
-Ability to work independently to meet goals and objectives with minimal supervision
-Team player with excellent consultative and communication skills, and the proven ability to work effectively with clients, IT management and staff, vendors and consultants -Strong problem solving and time management skills
-Ability to continually triage assignments, manage conflicting priorities and accept changing deadlines
-Ability to work well under pressure, responding to critical requests calmly and efficiently
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to form and maintain effective working relationships at all levels and across reporting lines;
-Discretion in handling confidential or sensitive information
Critical Skills:
Oracle, SQL Server, MySql, Websphere and Cold Fusion Administration and Troubleshooting
Preferred Skills:
• Knowledge of Redhat Linux and Windows 2008
• Understanding of Oracle Application Server
• Familiarity with MySQL
• Java Environment Administration and Management
• Familiarity of Application programming languages and Web technologies
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Knowledge of the ITIL methodology for Change, Incident and Configuration management
