USmax Corporation is seeking a Systems Administrator (Field Support) to support the Information Technology Operations and Maintenance (ITOM) contract for U.S. Citizenship Immigration Services (USCIS).
Responsibilities:
Is a technical lead over junior technicians spread across multiple locations. Responsible for the acquisition, installation, maintenance, and usage of USCIS systems nationwide; Performs systems analysis, solutions, tests and implements interface programs; Manages and analyzes system performance and maintains system security; Ensures that security procedures are implemented and enforced; Evaluates, develops, and maintains telecommunications systems; Troubleshoots and resolves complex problems to ensure minimal disruption of mission-critical applications; Updates software specifications; Establishes policies and procedures regarding access methods and time, security validation checks, and documentation; Researches hardware and software issues and prepares system design specifications to meet requirements; Maintains fault-tolerant systems and manages system backups.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Manages the functionality and efficiency of a group of computers running on one or more operating systems.
- Administers servers, routers, and switches in support of LAN/WAN operations.
- Monitor operational status of servers and their subsystems.
- Maintains system documentation.
- Interacts with users and evaluates vendor products.
- Coordinates and installs hardware and software, coordinates installation and provides backup recovery.
- Develops and implements testing strategies and document results.
- Maintains current knowledge of relevant technologies as assigned.
- Supports resolution of all types of Incidents both locally and using remote tools.
- Assists with asset management and inventory of IT assets. Participates in special projects as required.
Required:
- Applicant selected will be subject to a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information. Weekend and shift work may be required. On call responsibility will be required for after hour support of service restoration activities.
- LOCAL AND CONUS TRAVEL MAY BE REQUIRED.
- Must be able to lift and carry at least 30-50 lbs.
- Shift and weekend work may be required.
- Must have or be able to obtain, with the first 120 days of employment, the following certifications: Comp TIA A+, Network+, Server+, and Security+.Exceptional experience with Visual Basics or other commercial scripting languages.
- ITIL Foundation V3 required within 90 days of hire (training will be provided by the employer).
