Description
CSC seeks senior-level engineers to support the Missile Defense Agency Engineering Directorate (MDA/DE). The candidates must possess knowledge, skills and abilities that enable analysis, verification and assessment of new and existing missile defense elements/components, as well as analysis, verification and assessment of system-level capabilities. The candidates will be expected to provide in-depth technical and theoretical expertise and the capability to solve engineering problems. Duties may include architecture formulation, requirements development and verification, design related projects, including analysis and evaluation of architecture/design alternatives, architecture and design documentation, high-level functional requirements, and high-level architectures and associated requirements. Candidates must possess detailed knowledge and understanding of the physics of the Ballistic Missile Defense System, or one or more of its elements (e.g. ground-based midcourse defense; command, control, battle management, and communications (C2BMC), terminal high altitude area defense (THAAD): Aegis BMD, etc.). The candidate must be capable of working independently or leading cross-functional teams to support development, verification, and assessment related decision making for the Ballistic Missile Defense System. Candidates must be able to work with technical subject matter experts on Ballistic Missile Defense elements/components, architectures, and functional and operational integration. The candidates will participate in duties requiring extensive leadership experience and management experience, and will be expected to provide leadership and guidance to subordinate contractor personnel. The candidates will be expected to communicate highly complex technical issues with senior government/contractor leaders.This position requires a current/active DoD Secret security clearance with the ability to upgrade to Top Secret. An engineering or physical science (i.e., physics, chemistry) degree from an ABET accredited school is required for this position. Extensive travel may be required. Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, systems engineering, physics, computer science, management information systems, or related field preferred
- Nine or more years of experience in systems engineering, software engineering, operating systems programming or naval architecture
- Experience working with specific software and/or hardware systems with a specific concentration in one or more areas
- Experience working with one or more structured programming languages
- Experience working with design principles and applications
- Active Secret securityclearance required
- Engineering or physical science (i.e., physics, chemistry) degree from an ABET accredited school required
- Must have DoD-related engineering experience
- Detailed knowledge and understanding of the physics of the Ballistic Missile Defense System, or one or more of its elements (e.g. ground-based midcourse defense; command, control, battle management, and communications (C2BMC), terminal high altitude area defense (THAAD): Aegis BMD, etc.) required
- Strong leadership skills to effectively mentor and lead junior level personnel
- Strong analytical and creative problem solving skills for design, creation and testing of complex systems
- Strong communication skills to communicate systems proposals to management and customers and provide systems diagnoses and resolution for current systems
- Strong interpersonal skills to interact with customers, senior level personnel, subordinates and team members
