SUMMARY
The Systems Administration Manager is responsible for providing systems administration technical staff oversight and guidance. Ensures the stability, security, and productivity of the corporate systems infrastructure by providing technical expertise. Provides senior-level technical consultation to support staff, end-users, and for business project initiatives. Acts as a project manager on systems infrastructure related projects.


The Systems Administration Manager position requires a versatile technical individual with a background in designing, implementing and supporting physical and virtual server systems. This individual is responsible for performing the following duties: management of systems staff, operational budgeting for the systems administration department, reviews and correct systems project designs, create and edit Visio diagrams concerning infrastructure architecture. Individual must be able to evaluate, recommend and support policies and procedures for server hardware systems, administrative system hardware environment and supporting server hardware and connectivity. The position will be responsible for the implementations and the maintenance of server systems, infrastructure, and other related sub-systems to provide efficient resource utilization and performance. In addition, this individual will be involved in procurement recommendations. The security risk level for this position is moderate; therefore the incumbent may be subject to additional screening requirements.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Per project plans, service level agreements, and corporate standards - researches, proposes, designs, implements, maintains, monitors, reports on and consults regarding the following technical areas of focus:
*Server service and maintenance.
*Licensing maintenance purchases.
*Staff technical training.
*Systems monitoring, auditing, and reporting.
*Researches, assesses, recommends and implements enhancements to the corporate server environments.
*Manages vendor relationship and cost tracking for related products and services.
*Reviews designs and creates recommendations for server projects.
*Approves new server requests and monitors server capacity.
*Enterprise monitoring, auditing and reporting for x86 platform and virtual environments

*Enterprise Active Directory management
*Enterprise patch management and reporting
*Authors and reviews Service Level Agreements, corporate policies, and standards.


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
*Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field.
*8+ years of experience in computer technologies

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
*8+ years in Systems Administration plus experience in various IT Management roles including Team Lead/Architect and/or similar Senior Systems Administrator roles.
*Strong Project Management skills.
*Working knowledge or experience with diverse server platforms.
*Strong knowledge of Windows Operating Systems.
*Strong knowledge of Linux Operating Systems.
*Experience designing, administering and maintaining Active Directory environment.
*Experience designing, administering, and maintaining server hardware and appliances.
*Master's Degree
*Strong skills in server applications and monitoring tools.
*Previous experience as a systems administrator.
*Prior project leadership/responsibility on larger Server related projects.
*Prior personnel management experience.
*Current industry certifications.
