Job Description: Network  Systems Adminsitrator

·A strong technologist who will effectively manage  and support all levels of Unix (HPUX) and Windows based servers, storage, backup and infrastructure applications and network transport related services in the Cypress headquarters  in order to provide a stable, cost effective infrastructure.

·Define, document and enforce operational standards, processes and procedures.  These include but are not limited to effective change control (CCB), Incident Reporting (through the helpdesk for communication) and in an incident report within 24 hours of any major outages.  Provide a mechanism for effective root cause analysis for steady improvement of the infrastructure stability.  Complete system documentation is to be kept up to date in an electronic format, with general availability to those who may require access to those systems.

·Work with management and customer support teams to identify critical systems and data and ensure that cost effective redundancy and backup of data are available.   

·Work with external groups requiring IT support to develop service level agreements that will allow the team to effectively manage their server resources at the hardware and OS levels.

·An open communicator willing to proactively share ideas with peers,  customer base (other IT teams, other sites, users base) and management (one-on-one, status reports).

·Define, implement and monitor key performance metrics which indicate the health of the infrastructure and drive continuous process improvement. 

·Skills and Knowledge

Server Applications – Microsoft System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM), Citrix, Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint, SQL Server, MYSQL,, Microsoft Lynx, Server Anti-virus Products. VMWare server virtualization products. 

Operating Systems –Windows Server 2008 w/ Hyper-V and before, Windows desktop Window7, XP and before, MAC OS 9.X, 10.X,, Linux,

Network Infrastructure – Cisco routers (1600, 1800, 2300), Cisco PIX, Cisco ASA 5510, Cisco IronPort, Cisco switches,  WatchGuard, Sonicwall, Velociraptor, NetScreen routers, small office network equipment, Email and Web Security Devices including SSL-VPN

Server Hardware – Dell PowerEdge Servers, HP Proliant Servers, SAN devices with iSCSI, NAS devices, and enterprise backup systems

·Strong knowledge of the business environment, system architecture and its relationship to the IT infrastructure.

·Ability and experience in creating and defining new operational models and procedures and explaining complex problems and situations to those outside of IT.

·Strong project management skills.

·Excellent verbal and writing skills; an energetic problem solver that recognizes the customer service role that IT plays in the organization.
