Position Requirements:
Our Information Technology department has an immediate need for a Systems Administrator to be responsible for administration and support of Microsoft Active Directory, Windows file and print services, and email account administration. Individual must be a Microsoft Outlook and Office specialist.
Responsibilities:
• Install, configure, maintain, troubleshoot, monitor, and support servers, including Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and 2003 Operating Systems ; implement new services
• Administer and support Lotus Notes Exchange in a heterogeneous environment (Windows / Linux), ActiveSync, and Traveler
• Systems administration and engineering for in house developed applications
• Manage user and group rights; evaluate new tools for supporting infrastructure
• Network and server documentation and configuration control
• Implement vulnerability and operating system patches to insure compliance and system integrity
• Assist with infrastructure support and administration duties in other areas of the company's production infrastructure
• May manage and maintain McAfee ePolicy Orchestrator
• Manage and maintain users and groups in a Microsoft Active Directory 2008 multi-site environment including access and security permissions
• Support email migration and/or upgrade projects, install updates, patches, and application version upgrades
• Additional projects and assignments as assigned
Requirements:
• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering and 4-6 years in Information Technology with a proven track record of success and increasing responsibility
• Ability to coordinate and maintain several projects simultaneously, while providing daily operational support
• Familiarity with Symantec Altiris, including patch management, imaging, and packaging a plus
• Thorough understanding of Active Directory concepts and health and performance monitoring of Directory, DNS, and Windows services
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
• Ability to work in a professional manner and meet deadlines
• Good knowledge of Group Policy Objects and Delegation of Administration
• Up-to-date knowledge of Microsoft security and best practices
• Familiarity with network topology and infrastructure and TCP/IP protocol and port configurations
• Solid organizational and documentation skills
• Flexibility to respond to changing needs of the organization and ability to quickly learn new processes, systems, software, etc.
• Experience with Windows Cluster Services, and SAN or NAS (preferably EMC), a plus
• Knowledge of IBM Server Hardware; Knowledge of EMC SAN and NAS a plus; proficiency with JDBC-linked web and application servers across Microsoft SQL, Oracle, and DB2 also a plus
• Experience with VDI and Terminal Services a plus
