Job Title Systems Analyst Sr.
Duties
Provides comprehensive consultation to business unit and IT management and staff at the highest technical level through all phases of application development
Is responsible for facilitating business requirements gathering and translating into system requirements
Works closely with client and IT management and staff to identify: application development solutions, new applications or modifications to existing programs, opportunities for reuse, integration of purchased/open source solutions or a combination there of
Clearly defines system work scope and objectives based on Business Requirements. Researches and evaluates alternative solutions and recommends the most efficient and cost effective solution.
Translates Business Requirements into systems functional specifications and system design specifications.
Provides system expertise to users, business partners, and other internal/external customers including trouble shooting issues, as well as, identifying and correcting inefficiencies.
Develops test strategies and plans to the satisfaction of QA
Performs functional system and data testing of enhancements including regression testing
Constructs input files or scripts to support functional testing
Ensures test scripts are documented, reported and tracked in the appropriate tools (Test Director)
May also be asked to provide on-going support for the applications

Skills
Experience with reviewing business requirements, system functional requirements, and developing systems specifications
Excellent analytical and problem solving skills
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Working knowledge of all phases of the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
Experience creating use cases, functional requirements and process flows

Experience working in an agile or iterative development environment
Experience with Agile development (SCRUM methodology) desired
Knowledge of / experience with QA processes and testing requirements
Knowledge of midrange systems, relational database concepts and development patterns
Ability to work as part of a high performance team in a fast paced environment
Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

International Institute of Business Analysts (IIBA) CBAP certification desired but not required
Bachelors degree in Computer Science or a related discipline, at least four, typically seven years of solid, diverse work experience in IT
Experience working at software or Saas companies desired
