We are currently recruiting for a Systems and Applications Administrator for our London HQ.
Responsibilities:
- Monitor, triage, troubleshoot and resolve issues related to in-house developed applications at 2nd to 3rd levels (1st to 2nd line support is provided by another department for approx. 50% of applications)
- Support enterprise systems platforms built on service oriented architecture
- Follow, establish evolve communication processes of updates to ensure appropriate team handles the problem
- Create, analyze, track and report application and system performance metrics plus compliance against SLAs for issue resolution
- Baseline and re-baseline key application metrics before and after changes
- Identify performance bottlenecks in systems / applications
- Recommend and perform performance tuning in application servers such as WebLogic
- Actively monitor to ensure that the configurations are consistent between environments
- Document changes to configurations in each controlled environment, support and system processes
- Manage code deployment to environments, following SP's software release change management processes and procedures
- Provide updates on upcoming maintenance windows and system outages to end-users and impacted groups
- Engage/coordinate with other technical resources for problem resolution
- Assume required secondary responsibilities as backup to other immediate team member's primary responsibilities
Skills
Required:
- Directly related previous experience and demonstrable hands-on application support experience is a prerequisite.
- Knowledge of the financial services industry is advantageous
- You must have experience of Service Oriented Architecture
- You must have experience of Weblogic
- You must have experience of Windows Services
- You must have experience of Web Services
- You must have experience of Linux Services
- You must have experience of UNIX
- You must have Knowledge understanding of software deployment methodologies
- Superior written and oral communication skills in English; interface with multiple groups; coordinate effectively
- Experience in analyzing/ researching alternative solutions and developing/ implementing recommendations accordingly
- Experience in assessing change impacts and the development of task estimates required
