Job Description: The desired candidate will support a program providing network operations and sustainment services (network management, information assurance services, training), network engineering services (network architecture, systems engineering, information assurance engineering, project management), and network information assurance services. In support of network operations training, candidates should have the following skills. The candidate may perform as a lead engineer and will develop and adapt engineering processes and standards for the project. The candidate will design and develop solutions to complex applications problems, system administration issues, or network concerns, and incorporate engineering strategies for introducing new technology into customer's infrastructure related business processes. The candidate supports architectural strategy, technology migration, integration, and evolution, and applies knowledge of enterprise needs to improved processes and requirements. The candidate will perform technical planning, cost and risk management, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems. Required Skills: Support establishment of engineering processes and standards Confer with clients regarding the nature of the telecommunications needs. Provides support in the translation of business requirements into telecommunications (e.g., LAN, MAN, WAN, Voice and Video) requirements, designs and orders. Consult with management to ensure agreement on system principles. Analyze user requirements, procedures, and problems to automate or improve existing systems and review computer system capabilities, workflow, and scheduling limitations. Analyze engineering proposals and related technical data to determine feasibility of assigning new equipment or modifying existing equipment. Analyze telecommunications management applications and design specifications for functional activities. Apply business process improvement practices to re-engineer methodologies and principles and business process modernization projects. Ensure the logical and systematic conversion of customer or product requirements into total systems solutions that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints. Ensure designs are compatible with the architecture and allocate requirements to segments. Perform functional analysis, time line analysis, cost estimation, trade studies, requirements allocation and interface definition studies. Identify system integrity issues and solutions for the full system life cycle from concept to disposal. Analyze or recommend commercially available software. Required Experience and Education: Minimum 8 years with a BS in Engineering, Science, or Mathematics, or equivalent education and experience.
